Parkfield’s Major Fault (the San Andreas!)

Central California – Parkfield

This will be an all day ride to Parkfield, CA (south of King City).

We will stop at the James Dean memorial, at the very spot where two tectonic plates converge. And rumor has it that we can find some great BBQ here right along the San Andreas Fault. Hopefully, we’ll enjoy the baking without the shaking!

🌮 Ride to Coalinga 🌸

Ride will be on Saturday, August 25th, 2018.

This is a long ride, easy ride with little traffic and lots of terrific views. For reference, Coalinga Rd is easier than Hecker Pass / Highway 9. We will be stopping to stretch out legs along the way. We suggest having water and snacks for these stops to hold you over until lunch when we stop to eat some great Mexican food at El Michoacán.

This ride takes us to Alice’s for lunch. After lunch we will ride north on Rt. 35 to 92. We will go through Woodside with a stop in Los Gatos at Pete’s for coffee.

This full day ride promises to be a relaxing and scenic ride south to scenic San Juan Batista for lunch at JJ’s Burgers. After lunch, we offer an optional bonus ride up to Fremont Peak. IMRG – Big Sur and Nepenthe (day ride)

The grandeur of northern California doesn’t come into view any clearer than riding US 1 in Big Sur. The views are magnificent and roads spectacular. We’ll be stopping for lunch at Nepenthe, a wondrous cliffside eatery surrounded scenery that must be experienced in person. It is amazing. This ride is an intermediate ride, given the switchbacks and traffic next to the dramatic geography that will compete for your attention. Focus on the road, and take in the views when we stop along the way.
